Free Emergency Book Download

My friend Trish is prepared. That's not an understatement. She is organized and has everything in order in case anything ever happened to her or someone in her family.

One thing that I am so glad that she has shared with me is this Emergency Book. 

If anything ever happened--house on fire, kid sent to hospital, death in the family, flood, accident, plagues, etc., all she has to do is grab this book and she's got everything necessary to try to make it through it. Everyone needs something like this, but I am sure so many of us don't. That is why I am sharing it with you.

This past year I have notice some catastrophes that have hit close to my home. There have been some floods in our area because of some very intense rain. Luckily, it didn't affect us, but it did affect some people. Homes have been literally washed away. Another thing we saw this last year were some wildfires. We saw on the news how many people had to evacuate their homes. Now, I'm glad that this didn't happen to me, but it sure made me think that I need to be prepared in case something like that does happen.

Here are some topics included in this book that you can fill out to your custom needs, print out, and put in a binder of your own:

• Permission form for others to act as legal guardians for your children in the case that you are unable to 
• Bank account information
• Investment & retirement information
• Credit card information
• List of things that must be done after the death of a loved one
• A letter of instruction to make it easier for loved ones in the case of your death
• Location directory of actual important documents
• Household inventory list
• Emergency shut-off directions (power, gas, water, etc.)
• Important phone numbers/addresses, immediate family contacts, emergency contacts list
• Child registration/medical history and identification sheet
• Adult registration/medical history and identification sheet
• Insurance quick directory
• In depth insurance information

Trish also keeps social security cards, photos of each person in the family, certificates of importance, immunization records, cash for emergency purposes, etc. in her book. You can get those clear picture/baseball card divider sheets to keep them organized and in full view.

And this one is one of my favorite ideas...

She has a backup of all of her family pictures on a portable hard drive in her binder as well.

She has one of those pencil pouches that fit into a three ring binder and keeps her hard drive right inside.

You can also do your home inventory by taking pictures of the items you have in your home and keeping them on the hard drive.

I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have two copies of the book, one somewhere safe outside your home (like your car), and one in your home--just in case something happened to your home while you were not there.
